Robert Bruce Long, age 68, of 1302 Smoak Avenue, Perry, died Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Heart of Georgia Hospice-Inpatient Care in Perry.
Born in Danville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Theodore Long and Freda Polk Long. He retired from Robins Air Force Base where he was an Electronics Mechanic. Mr. Long was a very active member of Victory Christian Fellowship, including leading the Royal Ambassadors. After the church closed, he began attending Harvest Church in Warner Robins.
Survivors include: Wife: Donna Dunaway Long of Perry, Sons: Robert Bruce Long, Jr. (Kim) of Bloomsburg, PA, Joseph Pope of Perry. Daughters: Sherrie Johnson (Robert) of Dayton, OH, April Pope Jackson (Cary) of Perry, Angela Pope Cross (Tyler) of Unadilla, Step-Father: Edwin Smith of Berwick, PA, Brother: Larry Long of Bloomsburg, PA, Grandchildren: Noelle Long Savage (Charlie) of Fort Belvoir, VA, Katrina Long of Bloomsburg, PA, Nathan Long of Bloomsburg, PA, Erica Mayer of Dayton, OH, Tyler Anne Pope of Warner Robins, Mary Katherine Cross of Unadilla, Chloe Cross of Unadilla.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, February 10 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla with interment in Walnut Cemetery.
The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, February 9 at the funeral home.
