Thomas “Tom” James McKenzie, age 54, of Montezuma, GA passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 13, from 3 – 5 PM at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors. The Rev. Ruth Tate will officiate. Tom was born on August 15, 1955 at Fort Belvoir, Virginia to the late William Hill McKenzie III and Ina Claire Langstaff McKenzie. He was NCO in charge of the photo section of the 116th air control wing at Robins Air Force Base. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Hal Corbett McKenzie and his wife Lynda of Macon, GA; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Adine McKenzie Moore of Baton Rouge, LA, Esther Ann McKenzie Hammond and her husband Steve of Montezuma, GA; 10 nieces and nephews survive and several great nieces and nephews also survive. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Boots and Mogus. He is preceded in death by his brother, William Hill McKenzie IV.
