By KRYSTAL RINER Managing Editor On Wednesday morning Houston County heard the sound of weather sirens. At 9:07 a.m. the Houston County Emergency Management Agency used the alert as part of a statewide tornado drill held every February. Houston County’s EMA director, Jimmy Williams, said the test proved to be a success. The county will have a total of 33 sirens at the completion of the project. Twenty-nine of those are currently up and running, with the remaining four awaiting approval for placement. The regular scheduled test of the county’s warning system , is the third Saturday of each month at noon, weather permitting, according to Williams.
